The former first lady of the United States tasted yesterday in the restaurant Béns d'Avall the 'porc negre' ham and the tumbet with 'cap roig'.

The Diario de Mallorca writes that:

Elusive and sneaky. This is how Michelle Obama moves around Mallorca, who takes advantage of her days on the island to savour the best local products while enjoying the views of the Serra de Tramuntana.

The wife of former President Barack Obama, accompanied by the Costos-Smith couple, left the Ses Planes estate in Esporles yesterday with her army of escorts at around 2 pm. They headed for the restaurant Béns d'Avall, on the road from Deià to Soller, an establishment where she had lunch last year. The former First Lady sat down with her two friends and ordered dishes from the menu. Specifically, they tried the Mallorcan porc negre ham and the prawn carpaccio for nibbles. For the main course, they shared Mallorcan fish and two tumbets with cap roig. They paired the meal with a bottle of Son Prohens rosé wine. On leaving the establishment and in the presence of photographers, the Costos' guest crouched down and tried to hide among her escort to avoid the flashbulbs. She got into the car and headed back to the starting point: Ses Planes.

The day began more quietly for Michelle yesterday after an intense Wednesday in which she went hiking along the Camí des Correu, which connects Esporles with Banyalbufar. She then sailed a yacht from Puerto Portals and ended up having dinner in a restaurant in the Calvià area. The day before, just after landing, she had lunch at the Ses Planes estate with Queen Sofia.

For the time being, Obama is following a very similar agenda to last year's (hiking, sailing and gastronomic tourism), and it is possible that she will travel to Formentor at the weekend.
